The random thoughts of a man constantly staving off hypothermia and wolves.

Hi, my name is Brandon, and I'm a Lost addict
Ah, Lost. I only watched one episode during its first three seasons, and though I thought it was really good, I didn't want to get into the whole thing. My sister Amy has been hugely into the show for a long time, and is constantly harping about how great it is, but I didn't want to get stuck with 3 million questions and no answers, so I stayed away.
Last summer I found myself with a solid six-week break from school. So I decided, what the heck, I'll see what all the fuss is about. I started a free month-long trial with Netflix and ordered the first half of Season 1.
I think it took about three episodes to hook me and Mandi. We ended up watching every single episode of seasons 1-3 between August 1st and 31st. That's 69, 42-minute episodes over 30 days.
That's a lot of absorb in such a short amount of time. I spent the next two weeks combing the internet for theory sites and reading about things I'd missed, like The Lost Experience. Then I sadly resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be able to see any new episodes for at least three months and moved on with my life.
Well that time has come! Season 4 starts January 31! Okay, so it's three weeks away, but still.
Here's a promo for it:
And in case you've forgotten what happened in Seasons 1-3, here's an excellent (and hilarious) eight-minute recap:
I know how you feel! Except my obsession was Gilmore Girls. Now that the series has ended, I STILL watch the 7 seasons on DVD religiously as though the show were still running. I know, I'm a loser.
I have recently just got into the series myself. Not sure if you have heard, but Lost is coming to G4TV. Starting from the very beginning, and moving forward. Why would they show all the old episodes? Well, they are making it a 2.0 experience, an interactive experience if you would. They have done this to two other shows as well, and with great success. Cops 2.0 and Heroes 2.0. I am now a big fan of Heroes as well. They start broadcasting the new Lost 2.0 this fall. Its a ways off, but you know you'll watch it.
And I'm not sure if you've seen them or not, but Cory and I just watched all the "Lost: Missing Pieces" that they have on their website... good clips, but I'm glad they took them out of the show. I especially liked the one about Frogurt, but it totally would've been out of place in that episode. We are SO excited for Lost to finally be back. Finally we can quit filling our nights with old Buffy episodes...
And just for the record, I think I might have you beat... I watched the first 4 seasons of Smallville in probably 2 months time, but while I was going to school full time (20 credits of English that semester) and working 30 hours a week. That was insanity. The things we do for love. :)
I'm a graduate from BYU-Idaho with a degree in Communications with a print journalism emphasis. I currently work as a test engineer for a software company. I've been married for seven years and have three kids.

Ahhhh, desperately trying to watch episodes of Lost in the hot Malad sun while waiting for your dad to come rescue us. Good times.

Thanks for the information, Moo and Jessie. I'm not sure if I get G4TV... I'll have to check. And I'll definitely have to check out Missing Pieces.
Aren't you glad I addicted you? I'M SO STOKED!!! Jan. 31st!!!! (And, yes, this many exclamation points are necessary.)
