My first article in a newspaper that's not on campus

Last night I covered the Madison-Skyline high school girls basketball game here in Rexburg. It was my first time stringing for The Post Register. I must admit that girls basketball has not been my favorite sporting event to attend in the past, but this game was pretty good. Madison had the lead for the entire game up until the last three minutes, when Skyline forced a bunch of turnovers and hit like eight free throws to win.

And as much as I like to disparage girls b-ball, there were a few of the players on the court last night who would have killed me in a game of one-on-one.

Anyway, this afternoon I bought a copy of the paper to see if my article actually made it into print, and there it was, on the top of the page about high school sports. Woot.

I'm putting it in my scrapbook.

Or portfolio. I meant portfolio.

Congrats! That is really exciting. You should put it on here so we can read it.

I thought about doing that, but then realized it might be against company policy.

I'll ask them tomorrow and post if if it's okay.
